Cost of Hong Kong & Macau Trip 2017
In March, I travelled to HK & Macau with my best friend, Aimee. It was my second time there and I truly enjoy travelling in Hong Kong. It's our 6th bff trip!
We did some research and knew some travellers feel the HK locals are rude and impatient. We didn't experience that at all because THE KEY IS THE LANGUAGE.We blending into their culture by speaking Cantonese with the locals. So far, the HK people that we met were kind and friendly to us because we have no boundary in communicating hahaaa. So, if you are able to commerce in Cantonese, please do. Try your best to avoid speaking mandarin in there as well.
Pros:
nice foods, great for short
trips as the country itself is small, safe (low crime rates), clean, nice
places to shop, high efficiency in services and public transport etc.
Cons:
not foreigner-friendly (most of
the food menus are in chinese & they aren't fluent in communicating in
English), public transports are crowded in peak hours, impatient people,
fast-paced.
Some of them say it's expensive to travel in HK but I feel it really depends on how you spend tho. We did shopping and tried a lot of good foods. Overall we spend around RM2500 (USD500) for 6 days 5 nights inc flights, accommodation, transportation and expenses :)
